William Shakespeare was born in 1564.  He wrote at least 37 plays and collaborated on several more.  Many of these plays were very successful, both at court and in the public playhouses.  In 1613 Shakespeare retired from the theatre and returned to Stratford-on-Avon.  He died and was buried there in 1616.

His plays were comedies, histories and tragedies.  His 17 comedies include A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Merry Wives of Windsor.
Among his 10 history plays are Henry V and Richard III.
The most famous among his 10 tragedies are Hamlet, Othello and King Lear.

  London - Clock Tower and Houses of Parliament Posted in 1917 Blurb on the back of the postcard reads: Erected in 1840 on the site of the old Palace of Westminster covering 8 acres, contains 100 staircases, 11 open courts and 1,100 apartments.  Can be seen Saturday 10 to 4.  Victoria Tower is 340 feet high.  Clock Tower 318 feet.  The four clock dials are each 23 feet in diameter. MACHYNLLETH, POWYS Publisher is Judges No. C725 Machynlleth is a market town and is twinned with Belleville in Michigan, USA. There is a long history of human activity in the area and in the late 1990's radiocarbon dating showed that copper mining was taking place in the early Bronze Age (2,750 years ago).
