London - Clock Tower and Houses of Parliament Posted in 1917 Blurb on the back of the postcard reads: Erected in 1840 on the site of the old Palace of Westminster covering 8 acres, contains 100 staircases, 11 open courts and 1,100 apartments. MACHYNLLETH, POWYS Publisher is Judges No. C725 Machynlleth is a market town and is twinned with Belleville in Michigan, USA. There is a long history of human activity in the area and in the late 1990's radiocarbon dating showed that copper mining was taking place in the early Bronze Age (2,750 years ago).
