London - Clock Tower and Houses of Parliament Posted in 1917 Blurb on the back of the postcard reads: Erected in 1840 on the site of the old Palace of Westminster covering 8 acres, contains 100 staircases, 11 open courts and 1,100 apartments. The Church St. Gudule and Congress Column stand out well. A magnificent view of the North East part of the town is obtained.
